Splenius Capitis headache
The splenius muscles are deep muscles in the neck. The name comes from the greek word for bandage because they wrap the spine and support it.
The splenius muscle forms a headache that is focused at the top of the head through the crown. It can be treated in clinic effectively with massage and gentle stretching and mobilising of the neck and head. These movements are exceptionally relaxing especially for someone suffering from persistent headaches.
